I love the style of this skirt and the fabric Leanne used for hers.
Even if you don't win you can make yourself one of these skirts because she has a great tutorial.

Felt Bow Tutorial

Recently I had a poll to see what kind of tutorials y'all would like to see on here. Accessories received the most votes, so today I am going to show y'all how to make felt bows. These are fun and fast to make, you'll want one in every color!

You will need:

felt
hot glue gun
lace and/or cotton fabric (you'll just need a small piece so it's a perfect way to use up those tiny scraps!)
clip, headband, or barrette

1. Cut three rectangles of felt: 6" x 1 1/4", 4 x 1 1/4" and 2 5/8" x 3/4".

2. Cut triangles out of the ends of the middle sized piece of felt.

3. Take the longest piece of felt, put a line of glue on each end and fold them to meet in the center.

4. Fold the same piece in half lengthwise (with the seam on the bottom) and fold the long sides back to create a bow shape.

5. Put a dab of glue in each fold of the bow to make the shape hold. Then glue it to the center of the piece with the cut out triangles.

6. Take the smallest piece of felt and glue one end to the back folding the edge of the middle piece toward the back. Then wrap it around and glue in place.

The bow looks really cute like this,

but it looks even cuter when you wrap some lace around the middle.

Or you can cut a 2 5/8" x 1 1/4" piece of cotton fabric, press the sides under 1/4" and glue it around the bow.
Now glue a hair clip, headband, barrette or brooch on the back for a pretty new accessory. Enjoy!

Rose Trio Top

So here is my second entry for the Spring Top Sewalong

It is really comfortable. I will definitely be wearing it a lot this spring and summer! I modified the t-shirt pattern I had already drafted and cut this shirt out of a men's large t-shirt I bought at a thrift store. I think I paid a dollar for it. I like sewing this way ~ even if it doesn't turn out I still haven't wasted a bunch of money on fabric! I used fabric from a white t-shirt for the roses and followed Sewtakeahike's tutorial.
Here is a close up:

Sewing Space Plans

I've been wanting to have a sewing space in my room, but didn't think it was quite possible until I saw Kim's closet sewing space. She inspired me to set one up of my own be it ever so tiny.

Isn't it so cute? I love the colors. It would be so fun to create in a space like that!
So now I have all kinds of dreams plans for mine which will be even smaller than Kim's if you can imagine that! Still, I'll have a little table where I can sew and write, a shelf and a bulletin board. Awhile back I drew a quick sketch of what I was thinking it would look like. My Dad saw it laying on my dresser and asked what I was going to use for a table. I told him I didn't know yet, but was hoping to find something at a garage sale. Then he took me outside and showed me a small desktop that he had and said he would add legs and give it to me for my sewing table! I'm really excited. I've been really busy with other things so I haven't gotten past the dreaming stage yet, but I'm thinking it would be a great summer project. ;)

On a side note, I finished my second top for the Spring Top Sewalong! I should getting it up here soon.

Coral Crossover Top

This is my first entry for the Spring Top Sewalong.

I started with a very large shirt that I bought at a garage sale. Eeew!

I started cutting and sewing, cut and sewed some more and this is what I came up with! I kept the shoulder seams and sleeve hems from the original shirt, but the rest of the seams were sewn entirely by me. I wanted to post pictures of the process, but kept changing what I was doing! I was planning for it to be a cardigan; however, I didn't like how it was looking so I changed it into this top.

I had fun making this top and hope I will have enough time to complete another top for the contest.
